NOTICE! As of this afternoon USDA issued a complete ban on the importation of used farm equipment from many Asian countries INCLUDING Japan due to “possible” hoof and mouth contamination. Also, all containers already shipped but not yet through customs are subject to disinfecting at a cost of app. $200-$225 per tractor. Translation—used compact tractor inventories will quickly deplete in the spring market AND those on the way that come in over the next few weeks will cost more. This is true!!!!
I was bringing in a 399MF (90hp) tractor last week from canada and customs held me until I could prove how long the machine had lived in Canada because the tractor is made in England, the fear of the disease being in dirt on the machine is real.
